Measure along the broad, flat face of the shade from top to bottom, not along the corner diagonal.
Be sure to double-check the inner diameter measurement for your lamp. UNO and EUROPEAN fitters are similar, but not interchangable.
"The Drop" is the distance from the top of the ring to the place where the fitter type is attached.
