Swatch : Pleated : Flute Natural
Lamp shades in flute pleat linen material will arrive with a thin trim at the bottom of the shade, and depending on the height of the shade, there may also be a trim applied at the top.
The inside of this shade is a white styrene (plastic) material.
Lamp shades with flute pleat will have vertical pleats from the top to the bottom of the shade.
Limitations: The nature of this material does not allow for the bottom dimension of the shade to exceed a value greater than 2 times the top dimension. For example, a lampshade measuring 8" at the top and 16" at the bottom would be allowed, but the same shade with a 17" bottom will not work. This is because the 17" bottom is more than 2 times the top measurement of 8".
Max Height Limitation: The maximum height for a shade with this material is 11".
How to measure flute pleat shades: Flute pleat material is an accordion-style pleat with each pleat measuring approximately 1/2". The outer surface is rounded instead of having a sharp fold. When measuring any lampshade, the dimensions of the shade always reflects the dimension of the METAL RINGS used to make the shade. In the case of flute pleat lampshades, there is about a 1-inch difference between the outside measurement of the RING and the outside measurement of the pleat material. For example, when you order a lampshade with a 5" top diameter, the TOP RING of your shade will measure 5", but once the flute pleat is applied, the shade will have about a 6" diameter, if you include the flute pleat material in your measurement. Remember, when measuring, refer to the size of the rings, without taking the material into account.
