They're expensive yes and for good reason, the skill to hand sew a pagoda is a true testament of a skilled seamstress.  To stretch and sew to the curvacios wire frame without snagging, to deliver a perfectly smooth shade, then to, by hand, create a small 1/2 narrow bias from silk shantung is perfection.  This beautiful shade is something illume is most proud of...   If we sold them for less, the quality wouldn't be as good because these take time and skill.   Each panel is unique and well thought out.  Brass washer spider.
